Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating

Eating disorders are complex illnesses that can arise as a way to cope with traumatic, or challenging, life experiences. When an eating disorder takes over, it often feels like you have no control. They can occur in the form of restricting, bingeing, bingeing/purging, abusing laxatives, over - exercising, having an intense fear and preoccupation around food and your body, and more.

Whether you have received a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder or  are generally feeling that your relationship with food, exercise, or your body has become challenging, counselling is an important step on the journey to healing and, ultimately, recovery.

In my work with eating disorders, I take a holistic approach and look at the many facets of the individual and their life that may be contributing to their current relationship with food and their body.

While it may take time and effort, full recovery from an eating disorder is possible and I am here to walk with you on that journey.
